Who we are

Nick Kuriya

Founder            

Nick founded Dark Matter Holdings because he is passionate about entrepreneurship and small business in Canada.

He grew up in Montreal, the son of immigrants seeking a better life. He went to French school, celebrated the ’93 Habs, mourned the ’94 Expos and had a front-row seat to dinnertime conversations about his family’s textile manufacturing business.

He is extremely curious and loves to learn. Over 20+ years, he’s been a management consultant advising world class companies, a deal maker, a corporate executive, and a business operator. He has launched a digital bank, founded a delivery-based meal kit business and operated the world's largest crypto exchange traded funds. He also helped launch his wife's law practice, which recently was named one of Canada's fastest growing businesses by the Globe and Mail.

He lives in Toronto and is father to two amazing young boys. He enjoys playing hockey, squash and working on unnecessary home improvement projects.
